I’m Susan MacLeod, cartoonist, artist, Speaker and author.

I’ve always wanted people and ideas to be heard; that’s why Communications was my professional career. Now I want people and ideas to be seen, particularly if my illustration and cartoon work help support change and add compassion to our strained long-term and health care systems.

I hold undergraduate degrees from Mount Allison and NSCAD Universities plus a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from University of King’s College. I have also completed the Graphic Novel and Visual Narratives residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and received a certificate from the Sequential Artists Workshop year-long program in Florida.

I've had success as a graphic recorder and sketchnote artist for the past seven years and am happy to discuss what I can do for you in that regard.

I’m also a founding member of VEOLI - Visualizing End of Life Issues. As our website states, “. . . the intention is to create a useful communications tool designed to help individuals and families process this time of life and its deep meaning.”

“Susan’s cartoons are full of warmth, tenderness, and insight. She shows the world of old age with humour and heartbreak. She has a light touch, and her stories linger in mind long after reading.”
